Sanju Samson wins the Best Young Player of the Tournament Award – IPL 6

Sanju Samson, the 18-year old boy who surprised many with his excellent batting skills, won the Best Young Player of the Tournament award in this year’s IPL. Sanju is a player for Rajasthan Royals, who showed some promising skills with the classical batting, along with a good hand in wicketkeeping as well as fielding.

Some of the best innings from Sanju Samson in this year’s IPL include:

63 (41 balls) with 7 fours, 2 sixes against Royal Challengers Bangalore Bangalore scored 171 but Rajasthan chased it down in the last over, and Sanju Samson was the Man of the match.

47* (33 balls) with 5 fours and 1 six against Kings XI Punjab where Rajasthan was chasing 146 runs and Samson along with Rahane took it away from Punjab in the 19th over.

After winning the award for the Best Young Player of the Tournament:

Samson: Feel very lucky to be a part of Rajasthan, allowed them to express myself. Great experience to bat with ‘Rahul sir’, or Hodge or Watson.

The other players who were in the list of contenders for this title were Hanuma Vihari for Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Manan Vohra for Kings XI Punjab.

Sanju Samson hails from Kerala, and at the age of 18 years, the player is very promising and with the class he’s shown with the bat, he could be a good prospect for the Indian cricket team in the coming future.
