Zimbabwe squad for the tour of New Zealand for Test, ODI, T20 Series
Zimbabwe is touring New Zealand later this month, and there is a single test match going to be played along with 3 ODIs and 2 T20I games. Zimbabwe Cricket has announced their squad for the tour, and the 16-man squad is going to be led by Brendan Taylor. Matsikenyeri, the Zimbabwean player who was out of the team since 2010, is going to return in this tour and might make a comeback in the playing team in the test and ODI games.
Speaking about the form of Matsikenyeri in the domestic matches, the Zimbabwe selection committee chairman Givemore Makoni said, “Stuart Matsikenyeri has earned a recall into the national squad as he has done very well in the domestic competitions and is one of the few batsmen who has been consistent. He is an experienced and aggressive player.”
Visu Sibanda, the current player in the team has been dropped from the team because he refused to sign the Zimbabwe Cricket contract on the new policy they played for the eligibility for the selections. Cremer, the leg-spinner for Zimbabwe has been called in for the test match, but would be replaced by Prosper Utseya in the ODI and T20 matches. Prior to the start of the test match, Zimbabwe would be playing a warm-up match against New Zealand XI from January 21st, and the first test starts from January 26th.

Brendan Taylor (capt), Regis Chakabva, Elton Chigumbura, Kyle Jarvis, Hamilton Masakadza, Shingirai Masakadza, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Tinotenda Mawoyo, Keegan Meth, Forster Mutizwa, Raymond Price, Tatenda Taibu (wk), Prosper Utseya (ODI & T20 matches), Brian Vitori, Malcolm Waller, Graeme Cremer (Test team).
